10 Delicious Ways to Drink Hot Chocolate
I like to consider myself a bit of a hot chocolate connoisseur. When I was a kid my favorite was the kind that came in the packets with dried marshmallows and you just had to add hot water. My tastes have improved since then and more recently I’ve found ways to kick my hot chocolate up a few notches.
Since the days of “packet hot cocoa” I’ve tried all sorts of mixes and even tried to make my own from scratch. None of them particularly knocked my socks off. Then, during a random Amazon browse I found this one from Stonewall Kitchen and thought I would give it a try. Let me tell you…it is ah-mazing!
So yesterday, I was working on a project for a photography class I’m taking. I was instructed to take a photograph of a party scene and chose to use “hot chocolate” as my subject. In the spirit of “research” I wanted to create a decadent display that would taste as good as it looks. I grabbed my mix, some mini marshmallows and some dark chocolate chips and of I went. After making the hot chocolate on the stovetop, I poured it into one of my favorite mugs and sprinkled A FEW marshmallows and dark chocolate chips on top. Admittedly, I didn’t add the chips until after I took these photos because…well I forgot. OMG…it was quite possibly THE BEST hot chocolate I’ve ever tasted.
This got me thinking about other ways I could up my hot chocolate game. So I’ve put together a few ideas for you here. Let me know if you try any of these and also, let me know how YOU like your hot cocoa!!!
