September Treats Box – SWEDEN!

Recently, I have become obsessed with subscription services, and so has my family.  My husband has THREE sock subscriptions and a shaving subscription and I have a clothing subscription (which I’ll be sharing once the box arrives..stay tuned).

Recently I was made aware of a snack subscription service called “Treats” that sends goodies from a different country each month.  I thought this would be a really fun (and yummy) way to incorporate some culture into my kids’ lives.

When the box arrives, it come wrapped neatly in tissue with a beautiful card representing the theme country.  This month, our box was from Sweden!  Honestly it could’ve been from anywhere and I’d have been thrilled, but when I think of Sweden, I think of CHOCOLATE!

There are two different options that you can choose from when setting up your subscription.  You can get the standard subscription which includes 4-6 international treats or the deluxe (that’s what we got) which includes 8-12 international treats.

~The Verdict~

The first thing I noticed  was that all ten of the treats that were in our box were sweet.  We had  a variety of cookies, chocolate and candy.  I’m a potato chip addict so I was mildly disappointed that there were no salty treats this month.  I got over that disappointment REAL QUICK, let me tell you!

Here’s how the kids and I divvied up the goods:   We went in order down the list that came inside the box so that we could read a little bit about each treat.  I even pulled up a map of Sweden on the computer so the kids could see where all these goodies came from.

Here’s what we got:

  • Ginger Swedish Thins by Annas (OMG)
  • Marabou Mjolkchoklad by Mondelez (OMG part deux)
  • Bilar Fruktkombi by Ahlgrens
  • Raspberry Licorice Bar by Panda
  • Guld Nougat Bar by Cloetta
  • Raspberry lemongrass by Lakerol
  • Ballerina Choko by Goteborgs
  • Kex Wafer by Cloetta
  • Crunchy Caramel Candy Bar by Daim
  • Licorice Pipe by Hellas

Our favorites were the Ginger Swedish Thins, followed closely by the Ballerina Choko cookies by Goteborgs.  Honorable mention goes to the Marabou Mjolkchoklad which is quite possibly the best chocolate I’ve eaten and the Bilar Fruktkombi which taste like Bubble Yum Bubble Gum. Truth.  There were a couple of things we didn’t like; specifically the Kex Wafers and the Raspberry Licorice bar.  But 2 out of 10 isn’t bad, right?

There are A LOT of snack subscription services out there, but Treats is unique.  If you are interested in trying the Treats Subscription box, click here to get more info or sign up!  Let me know in the comments below if you’ve subscribed and what your favorite treats are!
